Audio and video help create personal presence in an otherwise asynchronous environment. As you'll recall from SLIM's technology requirements page, you are required to have a webcam and headset/mic combo for use in the program. Aside from the video capturing tools editors on your personal devices (your phone's video/photo capture tool, iMovie, Windows Movie Maker, etc, the University licenses two products you are able to use to upload, share, and manage video files. Panopto is a lecture capture recorder. Your instructors may have you upload video via Panopto. Instructions for Panopto are available from Learning Technologies, a part of IT.
Kaltura is another tool licensed by ESU, one that allows you to bring previously recorded video into the Canvas environment. Use the link labeled My Media in the left-hand course menu to upload content here. Once you click the My Media link, use the blue upload button to bring in your video files. Did you know? Each time you use the Rich Content Editor in Canvas, you are able to create a recording. When you see the toolbar below, click the filmstrip icon to bring up the recording interface.
