====== Choosing a Presentation Tool ====== https://canvas.emporia.edu/courses/19056/pages/choosing-a-presentation-tool?module_item_id=277247 As a student, you have a wealth of presentation tools available to you, many for free.  Here's a recap of some of the more popular: PowerPoint: The Microsoft Office product just about everyone has known and worked with. Sophisticated presentations can be yours if you master this tool, and all of the Microsoft Office suite of tools is available as a free download for students. (Pardon the somewhat wonky look of the page.  I've notified IT.) Keynote is the Apple presentation editor. If you purchased your Mac (or iOS based device) after October of 2014, this is also a free utility. If you purchased a machine and don't have Keynote loaded, Mac offers an Up-To-Date program  (Links to an external site.) for users.  See if you are eligible! Slides is the name of the Google offering in the presentation creator category. This tool is available as part of your g.emporia  (Links to an external site.) Google account, so is always free.   Prezi has become widely known in the past few years. This program uses paths and zooming to move users along your presentation. Use caution with this one! The motion can be unsettling, causing motion sickness for some. Remember, as with all effects on your slides, less is more: your transitions, movement, and other effects should support your content, not compete. Prezi offers a very basic free user level  (Links to an external site.) , but is also available, with more features, as a for-pay service. PowToon uses sets of built-in animation to create engaging presentations.  The basic, free level  (Links to an external site.) offers enough content to get you started.   Looking for More? Presentation editors are being made available by leaps and bounds.  Sharon Hurley Hall, at the Daily Egg, offers links and information on 19 Free Presentation Tools  (Links to an external site.) .  Sure, you'll see some of the apps above listed, but there is more for you to choose from on this list. === Presentation Software ==== ^A^B^C^D^E^ |Keynote|b|c|d|e| |PowerPoint|b|c|d|e| |PowToon|b|c|d|e| |Prezi|b|c|d|e| |Google Slides|b|c|d|e|
